Born in Asahikawa, where he worked at the Asahikawa Ceramics Training Center from 1950 onward, leaving in 1962 to build his own kiln. Focused on glazes using Taisetsu volcanic ash and stoneware using iron-rich brown Takasu clay. Solo exhibitions held at Shinjuku G Tomodo as well as locations around Hokkaido.
