Born into a pottery family in Tokoname. Graduated from the Ceramics Department of Tokoname High School. Studied under his father, Rakushichi, a tea ceremony potter. 1973 Built a cellar kiln in Okujo Niike, Tokoname. 1978 Moved to Taya Nakane. He was awarded a prize at the Chozo Prize Ceramic Art Exhibition.
