Studied under Kato Shuntei in Seto in 1975. Returned to Yamagata in 1977, and made pottery as successor to Shinjo Higashiyama Yaki Godai Yabin. Selected for the Nihon Dento Kogei-ten (Japan Traditional Arts and Crafts Exhibition) among others.
