Uwataki Katsuji 上瀧勝治

Born in Saga Prefecture Arita. The second son of Uwataki Yokichi of the Takiyamagama kiln. Graduated Arita Technical High School. In 1973, he became independent in Chiba Prefecture. Studied under Tamura Koichi. Won the Chiba Prefecture Exhibition Mayor Award, and the grand prize. Won the Traditional Craft Rookie Exhibition Award, the honorable mention and was its judge. His works were selected for the Japan Traditional Craft Exhibition and Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition. He was a full-time member of the Japan Kogei Association. He worked on hokosaiji porcelain, nunozome sanji porcelain, and pale blue porcelain.
