Inherited a Shigaraki kiln. Graduated from Shigaraki Ceramics School. In 1951, restored and reopened a climbing kiln. Designated as a Traditional Craftsman in 1979. Won the award for outstanding performance at the Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition, among other awards. Has held personal exhibitions at locations including Fukuoka Tamaya, Sapporo Marui, Osaka Kintetsu, and Hiroshima Tanihira.
