In 1973, he built his own kiln. Later visited kilns all over Japan and was particularly fascinated by Shigaraki Kise clay. His works have been selected for the Japan Traditional Craft Exhibition, the Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition, and others. Focusing on fire-colored unglazed ceramics. In addition to his work with fire-colored unglazed ceramics, he has studied the use of kise clay in production of bark patterns, moth-eaten, and crack patterns.
