In 1976, he taught himself to build his own kiln and opened Mifune Kiln for Koda ware. Based on the techniques of Higo-Shodai ware and Yatsushiro-Koda ware, which were inherited from Goryeo inlaid celadon, he mixes various natural ash glazes.
