Graduated from Kochi University. Decided to pursue ceramic art in 1971 and trained at Okumura Studio in Sumiyama Craft Village. Later studied under Shimizu Uichi. Has received an honorable mention and the Nikkei Prize in the Kinki Branch Exhibition for Traditional Crafts, etc. Selected for the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition and others. Regular member of the Japan Kogei (Craft) Association. Focuses on white matte glaze, yakishime (high-fired unglazed ceramics), and hakeme (ceramics with a brush-mark pattern).
