Born on Sado Island. Studied under Sasaki Shodo and Miyanohara Ken. In 1947, he joined the Mano Ceramic Studio under the guidance of both of them, and succeeded to the studio in 1961. He was awarded prizes at the Nitten exhibition, the Asahi Ceramic Art Exhibition, and the Kofu-kai exhibition. Member of the Toto-kai.
