From Taku City, Saga Prefecture. Worked in coal and started the revival of traditional Taku-Karatsu ware in 1968. Has been selected for and won prizes at the Kyushu Yamaguchi Exhibition, the Japan Ceramics Exhibition, the Issui-kai Exhibition, and the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition. Focuses on Karatsu ware, tenmoku ceramics, and ceramics that undergo color variation during firing.
