From Seto City. Graduated from Seto Ceramics School. He is the third-generation successor to inherit his family’s pottery. Studied under Kagami Kozo and Suzuki Seisei. Opened an old-style climbing kiln in Kurobe City, Toyama Prefecture, in 1976, separate from the one in Seto. Won the Cashew Award at the Kansai Integrated Exhibition. Selected for the Japan Fine Arts Exhibition, the Asahi Ceramics Exhibition and others. His works are permanently preserved in the Metropolitan Museum and the Carter Museum. Has held solo exhibitions at Osaka Mitsukoshi and elsewhere.
