Born in Shobara City, Hiroshima Prefecture. After graduating from high school, he worked for a pottery company in Kyoto and completed the Kyoto Industrial Research Institute. Studied under Kawakami Rikizo. Established his own kiln by Lake Biwa in 1979. Held solo exhibitions at Seigado and Gallery Marronnie in Kyoto. Focuses on crafts using marbled ware and powder glaze.
