Born in Katsuyama, Fukui Prefecture. Graduated from Kyoto University of Art, majoring in ceramics. Studied under Tomimoto Kenkichi and Kondo Yuzo. Selected for the Shinsho-kai Exhibition, the Asahi Ceramic Art Exhibition, and others. Awarded the Chairman’s Prize at the Japan Traditional Craft Exhibition, and was purchased by the Agency for Cultural Affairs. He is a member of the Ibaraki Prefecture Art Festival Exhibition Committee and a regular member of Japan Kogei Association. Works with ash glaze, iron glaze, iron painting, high-fired unglazed ceramics, and scorched surface coloring.
