Born in Mitaka, Tokyo. Graduated from California State University. After returning to Japan, he visited potteries all over the world, and in 1970 he began to study pottery on his own. Presided over the formation of the Dōkan-kai. He has held exhibitions and solo shows at Ogikubo Ginka, Shinjuku Mitsukoshi Department Store, Keio Department Store and others. Focuses on high-fired unglazed ceramics and Korean style using cellar kiln. Mainly with inlay, brush marks, and marbled ware.
