Graduated from Tokyo Craft Design Institute, majoring in ceramics. Awarded prizes at the Japan Contemporary Craft Exhibition, Nitten exhibition and others. Member of the Higashi Ceramic Art Association and the Contemporary Kogei Bikyo. Exhibited at the Contemporary Kogei Shinsei-kai. Held solo exhibitions at Tokyo Daimaru Department Store and others. Admired Itaya Hazan. Pursued color painted porcelain and crystal glaze. In 2000, he established Azuma Kiln in Nasu Highland. He is currently active mainly in pottery making classes.
