In 1970, he built a kiln at his home. Retired in 1979 to devote himself to pottery, and opened Honjo Utsuhani Kiln in 1980. He is a member of the Pottery Association of Japan and has received the Pottery Flame Exhibition Memorial Prize. Awarded, commissioned, and judged at the Saitama Prefecture Exhibition. Selected for the Japan Traditional Craft Exhibition, Musashino Exhibition, New Works Exhibition, and Kofu-kai Exhibition. Solo exhibitions at Shinjuku Gallery Asuka and others. Focuses on high-fired unglazed ceramics.
