Born in Kishimoto-cho. Studied under Suwa Sozan III in Kyoto. In 1970, he returned to his hometown and started his own kiln, Kugo Kiln. Started Osan ware and pursued the Jian kiln Tenmoku style. His main work is Tama-hagane-yo which is made by firing material of Japanese swords under same firing conditions of Jian kiln, China.
