After studying at the Kyoto Prefectural Industrial Training Institute and the Municipal Industrial Research Institute, he returned to his hometown and trained at Maruko-toen in Tajimi. He has been awarded prizes at the Asahi Ceramic Art Exhibition, the Tokai Traditional Craft Exhibition, and the Chunichi International Exhibition. His main works are celadon porcelain and jun ware.
