Born in Kyoto, Japan. After graduating from the Second Technical School in Kyoto, he began studying under his father. After working at the Kyoto National Ceramic Research Institute, he took over the family business in 1950. He was a member of the Kyoto Traditional Ceramic Art Exhibition. He is a member of the board of directors of the Kyoto Traditional Ceramics Association. His works are mainly color paintings and cochin ware.
