Born in Tachikui, Tamba. Graduated from Kyoto Pottery Training School. Later helped his family in the pottery making business. Built a climbing kiln in 1973 and became independent. He was selected for the Japan Contemporary Craft Exhibition, the Japan New Craft Exhibition, the All Kansai Exhibition, and others. Awarded the Hyogo Prefecture Arts and Crafts Exhibition Artist Association Prize, the Kobe Newspaper Prize, and the Museum of Modern Art Prize. Awarded the Asahi Ceramic Art Exhibition Memorial Prize. Solo exhibitions at Osaka Daimaru and others.
