Studied under Ogahara Torakichi. Held an exhibition commemorating the 30th anniversary of the opening of Tenma Pottery at Kurashiki Mitsukoshi. Won prizes at the Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition and others. Participated in the avant-garde artist group “Group Gen”. His main works are Tenmoku, celadon, and cinnabar.
He completed the Yohen Tenmoku tea bowl that no one could reproduce in 1989, and was evaluated by five national appraisers including Mr. Lu Jimin, Director of the National Palace Museum in Beijing, China.
In 2004, he moved to Nichinan-cho, Tottori Prefecture, and named his kiln Orochi kiln.
