Graduated from Tokyo University of Science, and started teaching in 1954, using Raku ware in high school science classes, retiring in 1984. In the meantime, he moved to Mashiko in 1958 and opened a climbing kiln in 1970. He has had solo exhibitions at Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi, Nagoya Oriental Nakamura, Gifu Gallery Ayu and others. He combines the traditional Mashiko technique with colored glazes in his pottery.
