Shinohara Takashi 篠原敬

1960-

Born in Suzu City, Ishikawa Prefecture. Studied Pure Land Buddhism at Otani University.
In 1989, he encountered clay through Suzu ancient pottery and began to make pottery.In 1989, he encountered clay through Suzu ancient pottery and began to make pottery. At the same time, he often wandered around Asia to visit the origin of beauty. He established Yu-Gi Kiln in 1995.
In 2000, he held a solo exhibition at Matsuya Ginza (held every other year since then), and in 2003, he held a solo exhibition at Mitsukoshi Department Store in Nihonbashi (held every year since then).
In 2004, he collaborated on the construction of an anagama kiln in Bloomville, New York. Currently, he is promoting the appeal of Suzu pottery mainly through solo exhibitions in Japan.
