Also known as Shimizu Suigetsu the 3rd. Born in Banko Pottery, learned pottery making from his father, Shigetsu. He has been awarded prizes at the Japan Traditional Craft Exhibition, the Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition, and Chunichi International Exhibition. Has visited many countries around the world. Judge of the Mie Prefectural Exhibition. Full member of Japan Kogei Association. Focuses on high-fired unglazed ceramics, Tobi-kannna (the potters put a plane on to the surface of a dried ceramic piece while controlling a kick wheel) and scorched surface coloring.
