Shibayama Yoshikuni 芝山吉邦

Born in Suginami, Tokyo. Studied under Doi Tosen. In 1965, he established his kiln in Hiratsuka. Since 1962, he has been awarded many prizes at the Nitten Exhibition and is a Nitten member. He has been awarded many prizes at the Japan Contemporary Craft Exhibition since 1973, including the Chairman’s Prize, Mr. D’s Prize, and Member’s Prize. In 1968, he joined Tojinsha, a group led by Inoue Ryosai. Toured Europe. Solo exhibitions at Osaka Central G, Nihonbashi Takashimaya and others. He has produced vases, mists, and outdoor monuments in white porcelain, black porcelain, and cinnabar.
