Born in Akaike Town. Real name Hirofumi. Studied under Kumagai Koyo of Agano ware in 1954. In 1961, he built a climbing kiln in Tagawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture and opened a kiln of Hikosan-ware. Received the Asahi Newspaper Award at the Western Craft Exhibition. His works have been selected for the Kyushu-Yamaguchi Ceramic Exhibition and others. Became an independent artist in 1975. Held an exhibition in Fukuoka City in 1981 to commemorate his 20th anniversary. Focused on inlay, straw ash glaze, and iron glaze.
