Born in Mashiko Town. Father is Sato Koji of Hikari Kiln. Has an older brother, Takumi. Studied pottery under his father in 1965, built his own kiln in 1974 and became independent. He produces vases, tableware, etc. with ash glaze, etc., mainly using the cinnabar and kiln colors that Mitsushiro has made.
