Born in Shigaraki. Graduated from Tajimi Technical High School in Gifu Prefecture. Later completed the Kyoto Craft Training Institute. Exhibited for the first time at the Sodeisha Exhibition in 1967, and has been a member ever since. Won the Gold Prize at the Japan Export Ceramic Design Exhibition. Won the Gold Medal at the Japan Export Ceramic Design Exhibition and the Grand Prize at the Shigaraki Ceramic Exhibition. Won a prize at the Salzburg International Exhibition.
