Graduated from Showa Medical College in 1952. Studied ceramics under Kano Enryu. Began making ceramics alongside his work as a doctor and later opened a Seian kiln. Unique style primarily focused on work reminiscent of the “spring and autumn style” typical to ancient China making use of bronzeware from the Han dynasty in vases and also of the Shang Dynasty and other historical influences.
