Born in Miyagi Prefecture. Graduated from the graduate school of Tokyo University of the Arts. After retiring from the university in 1982, he built a kiln in Akigawa, and later moved to Chiba Prefecture. Awarded the Salon de Printemps prize at the Graduation Exhibition and the Honorable Mention at the Musashino Traditional Craft Exhibition. Awarded at the Japan Traditional Craft Exhibition and other competitions. Focused on polychrome porcelain.
