Born in Tanba Takikake. Worked at one of the six oldest kilns in Japan, Tanba-yaki pottery. Came back to work in 1950 and inherited the family business of pottery making. He has been aiming at producing pottery that is widely popular, mainly for daily use. Awarded by the Governor of Hyogo Prefecture in 1973 and many other awards. His main skills are traditional decoration such as flowing decoration, round crests, leaf patterns, line carving, and cylindrical painting, as well as simple fire-clad ceramics.
