karatsu pottery
Born in Fukuoka Prefecture. Switched from Western-style painting in 1963. Established her own style and became a popular female painter. Her works are mainly in the style of Karatsu, Old Imari and Joseon Dynasty style. Her eldest daughter, Hoen, won the Nishinippon Newspaper Award at the Kyushu Modern Craft Exhibition and others, and both mother and son did well.
