Born in Kunichika, Kamo County. Won a prize for oil painting at the New Works Kansai Exhibition in 1972, and has been active as a Western-style painter ever since. Travelled to Europe four times from 1950. Won the bronze medal at Le Salon in France. A member, committee member and recipient of the Workmanship Award at the Ganyo exhibition, the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly Chairperson’s Award for Excellence, a judge, and the deputy head of the Hiroshima branch. He has been working in the field of pottery since 1978 and established the Futayama Ceramic Club then. In 1980, he moved to the vicinity of the Yasuda ancient tomb and studied clay and glazing. He built an ascending kiln by himself in 1986 and named it Hoda-gama. Exhibited at Higashi-Hiroshima Verdi and Kure Art Salon Orientale. Focuses on ash glazing, densification and underglaze iron decoration.
