Born in Bizen City. Second son of Bizen Pottery artist Nakamura Kanzan. Studied under Fujiwara Ken, an intangible cultural asset of Okayama Prefecture, and then under his uncle Nakamura Rokuro. Built his own kiln in 1976 and became independent. He has won many prizes at the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition and other exhibitions.
