Born in Aioi City, Hyogo Prefecture.Started his career as a potter in around 1965.
Worked at Aioiura kiln and Aioi kiln. The Hyogo Prefectural Board of Education has identified 200 sites of Heian kilns. He revived Banshu Aioi ware which had several kilns in Furuike, Naba Ninsei, and Nabano during the Edo period but disappeared in the early Meiji period. His work was selected for the Japan Traditional Craft Exhibition.
He is the author of “The Song of a Pottery Master”, “A Tour of Japan”, “The Singing Heart” and “Selection of a Singing Jem”. He created works in the Goryeo style, such as Irabo, Totoya and Gohon, as well as colour variations during firing (Shu and Bidoro), and unglazed pottery.
