Born in Kyoto. His real name was Takashi. After retiring from a long career as a sencha iemoto (Imperial Tea Ceremony), he has been producing celadon porcelain and white porcelain as he feels like it. He is the representative of Kamesui Toen, and his studio is located in Yamashina. He claims to have been founded in 1615.
