Born in Hyogo prefecture. Graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in 1966. Later studied making ceramics under Narii Tsuneo in Mashiko in 1974. Founded a kiln in Nanai, Mashiko, in 1978 and went independent. Loose style primarily focused on inlay.
