Born in Seto. Grandfather worked on a potter’s wheel, father in ceramics painting. While studying at Aichi Prefecture Ceramics School in 1940, also worked at the Mantetsu Research Institute’s Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory. After working as a ceramic clay factory manager, moved into ceramic glaze manufacturing. At this time, traveled to China, Taiwan, and South Korea to provide technical guidance on ceramics. Eventually became fascinated by ancient ceramics and was inspired to create his own ceramics. Member of Seto Traditional Ceramics Association. Councilor for the Seto Cultural Heritage Preservation Society. Focused primarily on teaware, using styles such as Konoha tenmoku, Oribe, Kizeto, Seto, Kuro, Iga, Shigaraki, Goryeo, Seigaku, Cinnabar, Annan, Nanban.
