Born in Jorinji, Izumi-cho, Gifu prefecture. Entered the family ceramics business some time around 1976. Founded the Kikuseki kiln in 1978 where he made ceramics by hand. Worked alongside his father and younger brother. Primarily focused on tableware using tatara methods.
