Real name is Tsutako. From Tatsuno, Hyogo. Her wife, the 1st generation Gaei, returned to Japan in 1945 after researching old ceramics in China, started Tatsuno ware in his hometown in 1947, and completed Kujaku Tenmoku-yu glaze that changes color in the kiln in 1951. The 1st generation died in 1963. Assumed the name of 2nd generation Gaei in 1964. Succeeded the Tatsuno ware Kujaku Tenmoku and made ceramics. Presented and sold works to the House of the Imperial Prince, Held 20th Anniversary Exhibitions to commemorate the founding of the kiln at the Takashimaya in Osaka and Nihombashi in 1971. Held a private exhibition in Paris in 1974.
