From Karatsu, Saga. Began training and researching locally in 1974. Started a kiln named Matsuo Korai kiln in Kajiwara Kagami in 1984 and became independent. Exhibited at the Japan Craft Art Society Seibu Craft Art Exhibition and was selected starting in 1985. Held private exhibitions at the Inui Gallery in Akasaka, the Tobu in Ikebukuro, and other venues. Works focus on traditional Karatsu ware tea bowls, as well as tableware and sake vessels.
