Born in Takeo City, Saga Prefecture.

1982 Graduated from Saga Art College and studied under Iwabuchi Shigeya.

1983 Selected for the Grand Prize and the Governor’s Prize at the Kyusyu New Craft Exhibition.

1983 Selected for Saga Prefectural Exhibition (later awarded NHK Saga Broadcasting Station Prize, Honorable Mention, Saga Ceramic Society Prize, and Saga Bank Cultural Foundation Prize and 25 other prizes.)

1984 Selected, Kyoto Industrial Arts Exhibition.

1985 Returned to his home town and started pottery making at Ryozan Kiln.

1985 Awarded the Maruta Masami Prize at the Saga Art Association Exhibition (Since then, he has received the Maruta Masami Prize, Honorable Mention and Member Prize)

1986 Awarded the Saga Ceramic Society Prize at the Kyusyu Yamaguchi Ceramic Exhibition. Asahi Newspaper Award, Saga Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry Award, Saga Newspaper Award, Ceramics Jiho Award twice, Nishinippon Newspaper Award, Nikkan Kogyo Newspaper Award.

1987 Selected, Issui-kai Ceramic Club Exhibition (Kinoshita Memorial Prize, 2 Honorable Mentions, 12 Honorable Mentions). He has been a member of the club since 2002, and has received the Member’s Excellence Award three times, and was recommended by the committee in 2011.

1988: Selected for the Western Traditional Craft Exhibition (25 times).

1991 Built a climbing kiln and moved the studio.

1991 Selected, Japan Traditional Craft Exhibition (19 times).

1992 Selected, West Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition (Grand Prize, Honorable Mention 3 times, 6 times. Invited to exhibit since 2002)

1997 Selected, Dagakuji Prize, Sagami Prize, and Honorable Mention, Flower Pottery Exhibition.

1997 Selected, Pottery Biennale ’97 (since then selected for ’99).

2000 Exhibited at the British Museum, Saga, Japan.

2001 Selected, Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition, 2001.

2007 Newcomer Prize, Saga Bank Cultural Foundation, Saga.

2007 Exhibited at the West Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition (30 selected artists), also in 2009.

2010 Selected, Hagi Grand Prize Exhibition 2010.

2014 Selected for Tobi Exhibition , and 2015.
