From Kumamoto Prefecture. Graduated from the Kyoto Ceramic Experimental Institute in 1950. Later worked at Kumamoto Prefectural Industrial Experiment Station. Studied under Morino Kako from Kyoto in 1956. Entered the Bizen Ceramic Center in 1960 at the invitation of Okayama Prefectural Governor Miki Yukiharu and trained new recruits as the Director. Started a kiln in Nishikatakami, Bizen in 1973. Consecutively selected for the Japan Traditional Craft Art Exhibition and was an official member of the Japan Kogei Association. Judge of the Traditional Craft East Chugoku Branch Exhibition. Won the Kaneshige Toyo Award.

Won the Okayama Prefectural Cultural Honorable Mention Award in 1981. Held private exhibitions at Asahi Art in Nagoya, the Green Gallery in Tokyo, the Tokyu in Shibuya, and other venues. Held a 20th Anniversary Exhibition at the Takashimaya in Okayama in 1981.
