His real name was Takeshi. Inheritor of a prestigious Bizen ware kiln after the first of their line, Matsuda Katsurao, and the second, Matsuda Kazan. Developed a magnificent style using German muffle furnaces, donut-shaped double kilns, and climbing kilns.
