Graduated from Tajimi High School in 1933. Later studied ceramics under Kato Hajime. Selected for and won the Nipputen Exhibition New Artist Award and many other awards. Director of the Nipputen Craft Art Division. Member of the Mino Ceramic Society. Works focus on Shino ware, Kakiotoshi designs, glazes that change color in the kiln, Yuriko red copper glaze, and Annam style Shiboride designs.
