Began working in ceramics with the intention of reviving Tsushima-ware (the successor of the Busan kiln in Korea) in the Meiji period. After training in Kyoto and Karatsu, he opened the Hisada kiln in Tsushima in 1973. Primarily presents his work at solo exhibitions in galleries in various locations, developing work such as tea-ware that strives for harmony between the textures of Joseon and Japan.
