Born in Fukui prefecture. Graduated from Tamagawa University. Studied under Eguchi Katsumi at the Koyamaji kiln in Takeo, Saga prefecture. Following a five and a half year apprenticeship, studied glazing at the Saga Ceramics Research Center. Later returned home and worked independently from the kiln. Selected for the Seibu Crafts Exhibition and others. Primarily focused on modern decorative art, especially running water patterns.
