Born in Seto. Graduated from Kyoto University of Art and Design. Studied under Tomimoto Kenkichi, Kondo Yuzo, Fujimoto Yoshimichi. First selected for the Nitten Exhibition in 1972. Asahi Ceramics Exhibition Grand Prize jury member. Recipient of the Nikkei Exhibition Grand Prize, Chunichi International Grand Prize, Nisshin Kogyo Exhibition Kusube Award, Japan Ceramic Society Award. Special selection for Nitten, etc. Known for innovative personal design.
