Born in Tokyo. Began making ceramics at 14 years old. Graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Tokyo University of the Arts in 1979 with a dual major in traditional craft history and ceramics, after which he presided over Musashino Toen. Primarily focused on green matte glazed tableware. Held a solo exhibition at Tokyo Daimaru.
