From Sakaide, Kagawa. Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts with a major in industrial design and joined Sharp Corporation. Studied under Sugimoto Kotaro in 1974, started a kiln in 1979, and retired and became independent in 1982. Develops tableware design at the Tochigi Prefectural Ceramics Institute. A prefectural technical advisor for ceramic design.
